I know, I know, I spoke too soon…as I can now safely say a ‘funny jewellery’ category will be a permanent fixture on this blog.
You may have heard/read about this unique creation on the news. But if you’re like me, just hearing about the item isn’t quite enough. I wanted to see it!
So here it is… the “sparkly reindeer-dung necklace”.
Who wouldn’t want one?
‘Sparkly’ is now available for sale at the Illinois Zoo for a modest $15 per pendant. And, if you’re worried about hygiene and other petty things like germs and contagious disease, don’t be, the dung has been dried, sterilized and sprayed for your convenience.
The crystalized dung is the last (biggest) bead on the pendant. Above the dung bead is a nice pearl, separated by a thin black spacer bead – how delightful.
The Zoo is hoping the dangling dung will attract holiday tourists who are likely to purchase the necklace as a Christmas gift.
Now, I’ve received some pretty ordinary Christmas presents in my life, but this year, if anyone dear give me dung… the relationship is over.
